"Our jobs – yours and mine – are to give girls back their bodies, their voices, and their spirits.  To take them back from the negative stereotypes and messages in the media.  To take them back from the should and ought to people.  To put their uniqueness, their individuality, their girlness at the core of all we do for them and with them.  To provide as many opportunities as possible for our girls to experience genuine acceptance of themselves, just as they are."  Molly Barker (Founder of Girls on the Run)

Up and Running is excited to help build and promote Girls on the Run in Dayton!  The Dayton Program is in it's early stages, we need your help!  Proceeds from the Indoor Triathlon (Adventure Summit) and from The Dirty Dude Girl Trail Run will benefit Girls on the Run in Dayton.  However, in order for the program to kick off in April financial support is needed now for the program's licensing.   If you are in UAR over the next couple of weeks and would like to donate your time or a $10.00 donation to benefit and establish this program, your generosity would be greatly appreciated.

As UAR started out as a female specific store committed towards empowering women to lead a healthy lifestyle, we are excited to promote younger girls in the Dayton area to lead an active & healthy lifestyle!  This program targets pre-teen girls, combining training for a 5K run with self-esteem enhancing, uplifting workouts.  The goals of the program are to encourage positive emotional, social, mental, spiritual, & physical development.  We hope you will join us in the early stages of this program so we can reach out to young girls in the Dayton area!

Do you remember the first time you crossed the finish line?  Do you remember that smile & sense of accomplishment?  We are excited to see that same ear to ear smile and sense of accomplishment on the faces of young girls!
