Is Up and Running the Right Fit for You?
Up and Running in Dayton & Troy is looking for full-time, ambitious, motivated and friendly people to join our team. An energetic and outgoing personality is a must along with a passion for helping others. We offer an exciting, challenging work environment with great retail hours.
Some of our available benefits include a flexible schedule, paid vacation, 401k Retirement Plan, an outstanding discount on footwear, apparel, and gear, and a fun place to work!
Our employees are focused on providing exceptional service to guests on our retail floor. You will receive extensive training in all of our fit processes (shoes, insoles, sports bras and all other products). Just like finding the right shoe, hiring the right person is all about fit. The ideal candidates are people that have a passion for staying active, retail experience and a positive and outgoing personality. Currently, we are looking for full-time team members who will work between 35-40 hours each week with a mix of days, evenings and weekends
If joining our team sounds interesting, here are a few questions to see if Up and Running is a good fit for you…
Do you have sale sense? Our guests appreciate learning our products, you should be comfortable about education and suggesting items people might enjoy. People know us as the FIT experts; “fit” does not just refer to shoes but all our products and our service. You will need to make an effort during our training process to educate yourself about all of our products, so that you can deliver the highest level of service our guests have come to expect. We’ll help you, but it will be up to you to ask questions and take the time to learn and remember things.
Can you stay calm and friendly under pressure? Imagine providing superior customer care to 2 guests at the same time while several other guests are waiting. Things can get very busy here; expect a fast pace for hours on end.
Are you a team player? Up and Running is like a family and we work closely with each other; we all depend on each other and support each other.Do you pay attention to little things? It’s the thoughtful little touches that make a specialty store so special, like remembering frequent guest’s name or what shoes they run in. Fun little extras go a long way and make your job worth the effort.
Are you patient and eager to serve people? We expect team members to take a friendly attitude towards guests- to smile, greet them as soon as they walk in, to make conversation, to take time and care for their needs.
Are you available on evenings and weekends? Evenings and weekends are a key time when many of our guests shop and stop by the store for one of our many fun runs and seminars. It is critical to our continued success that our employees be flexible and comfortable working a variety of shifts, including evenings and weekends.
